The founders:

Johannes Kadura, PhD

Johannes Kadura is a co-founder and Chairman of Think Asia Group. He is an expert on American foreign policy toward Asia, with a particular focus on China and Vietnam.

Johannes earned a PhD in American history from Cambridge University. He is the author of a book on the Vietnam War entitled “The War after War: The Struggle for Credibility during America’s Exit from Vietnam.” He has also been an Associate Fellow at the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) and an Adjunct Professor at Peking University. Johannes grew up in China, the US, and Germany.

Karsten Luc

Karsten Luc is a co-founder and Managing Director of Think Asia Group. He is responsible for overseeing the companies research, operations and sales teams. Karsten holds an MA from Free University of Berlin and Technical University of Berlin in Sinology and communication science. He is particularly interested in the development and adaptation of Western technologies in China.

Karsten has gained extensive experience in developing and implementing strategies regarding digital marketing, digital products, and cybersecurity in the Asia-Pacific region. Previously, he was head of the marketing department of a tech firm in China and advised European and Chinese private sector clients and government institutions. He has also been a Visiting Academic Fellow at the Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS).
